Family Coaching and Therapy
Family Coaching and Therapy can be the foundation of addiction recovery. Family Coaching and Therapy can help many people who are struggling with addiction. Family Coaching and Therapy can be beneficial for the people that are just getting out of an addiction, and the families of those people. People will need to make adjustments after being in a treatment program. Family Coaching and Therapy will provide these individuals and families the tools that they need to be successful when returning to live their lives.
“Marriage Couples Therapy in New York City is an all-inclusive group of professional marriage and family counselors, psychologists, life coaches, and a clinical psychiatrist that have more than 80 years of collective experience and knowledge about: Drug abuse, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse, and eating disorders, marital problems, sex therapy, geriatric care, neuropsychology, and psychology. The goal of marriage couples therapy is to bring to light areas in the marriage that may be causing friction or acting as barriers to family life. The Family Coaching and Therapy models will assist clients to understand that drug abuse and/or depression does not have to define their relationship and to be able to identify and work through these issues.”
Aftercare models are designed to enhance the personal lives of clients after they leave treatment. “The Family Coaching and Therapy program work together with you, your spouse, and your kids to create a plan for aftercare that fits your lifestyle,” according to Sober Living. “This includes everything from how to go about picking out appropriate clothing for yourself, how to communicate with your kids, and what to do if things get messy during the day.”
Substance abuse cases often require the use of medication and/or counseling before moving into therapy. According to Sober Living, substance abuse therapists “often” use prescription medications, which are used in conjunction with or in place of alcohol, in addition to behavioral therapy. The Family Coaching and Therapy program has devised a case management plan for those clients who are not at risk for substance abuse, but who require additional help deal with stressors and/or depression. In addition to using medication to treat mental health issues, a substance abuse therapist “may” use medications and counseling to treat addiction, as well.
Many family coaching and therapy programs also offer intensive “boot camps,” in which coaches are taught specific skills, techniques, and strategies by certified professionals. As with regular camp attendance, this may not be a good idea, especially if your family experiences any kind of neglect or abuse. Many Coaches and Therapists are very good at helping clients overcome issues within their families, but the safety of your loved one always comes first. I would not suggest a boot camp for kids.
Finally, many family coaching and therapy programs offer support groups, in which people share their experiences at periodic intervals. This support group setting can be especially helpful for those who need some immediate emotional relief after seeing a counselor. Sometimes, it takes someone outside the family to remind a client about what he/she has missed. The Family Coaching and Therapy program does not provide support in that area. However, you may e-mail, text, or call to set up a time to meet.
